Writing Studio Hours & Location
**FALL 2016 HOURS**
Tuesdays: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Thursdays: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Additional appointment times are available if scheduled in advance.
E-mail us (firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com), submit the appointment form online, or simply stop by the library (office 14c) to schedule an appointment for writing assistance. We are happy to help!

The Writing Studio offers free academic and professional writing assistance to students of all levels and disciplines.
From brainstorming to documentaion to resumes,
the WS provides guidance from experienced writers trained to help you enhance your writing skills for inside and outside the classroom.

Update 8/23: New Hours and Location for Fall 2016
We hope you had a great summer! We have moved to a new location in the library (office 14c), and we're ready to assist you with any writing needs this semester. Come take a peek at the new space, say hello, and schedule an appointment.
Note that MLA has recently updated to the 8th edition; we are currently revising our materials to reflect this new edition. If assigned an MLA project in a class, make certain to ask your instructors if they prefer the 7th or 8th edition.
Update 1/14: New Hours for Spring 2016
We're now open for Spring 2016. Check out our new WS hours; workshops are currently being scheduled to assist you with your writing needs.
Update 12/8: Closed for Christmas Break
Have a great Christmas break, everyone! We will reopen mid-January. WS hours will be posted at the beginning of the Spring 2016 semester.
Update 11/5: MLA Workshops
Keep an eye out for flyers promoting our MLA Basics workshops. We will be offering several in the final weeks of the semester, so please join us.
Update 8/18: Fall 2015 Hours
We will be open for Fall 2015 on Tuesday, August 25. See above for hours, and contact us for an appointment after you receive your first assignment. See you soon!
Update 5/7: Closed for Summer
The Writing Studio is closed for summer. We will reopen at the beginnng of next semester. See you soon, and have a great summer!

Update 12/9: Closed for the Holidays!

Update 11/4: New Name and New Resources for Faculty and Students
An array of new resources have been added to the Writing Studio's (new name!) LibGuide. Please browse and utilize the plethora of handouts, workshops, and exercises that have been recently added to assist you with your writing needs and concerns. Also, please let us know if you have any specific requests for tutorials.
Update 9/11: Big Changes Coming to the WC
The WC is currently undergoing a transformation. Expect to see a new name, new logo, and most importantly, more accessible hours and opportunities for academic and/or professional writing assistance for students at any level.
Update 8/26: Schedule Your Appointments Online!
We've made it even easier for you to schedule an appointment with a WC tutor. Simply click on the "Schedule An Appointment" tab, and complete and submit the form. Don't forget to look at the Appointment Checklist so you are prepared for your visit.
Update 8/21: Fall 2014 Writing Center Updates
The Writing Center at Watkins is currently in the process of updating and adding helpful materials and writing assistance opportunities to the website. We welcome your feedback and suggestions as we broaden our offerings.
Update 8/19: New Addition to the Writing Center at Watkins
Lisa E. Williams is the new Writing Center Manager. Lisa has worked in multiple writing centers and is also an English and Women's Studies lecturer at Middle Tennessee State University.
You can also contact Lisa Williams, our backup tutor, regarding questions about the Writing Center. While she is the director of the library, she got her start as a writing center tutor. She worked as a tutor for two years while completing a Master's Degree in English. She has also taught English and beginning French classes and is a certified ESL instructor.
